Tri-Girl Triathlon

I went back and found my facebook post where I talked about my very first triathlon, the Tri-Girl Super-Sprint.

I finished my first triathlon this morning, so I thought I would make a few comments about it...
1) Although I've been practicing my swimming, nothing prepared me for the chaos that was the swimming leg. There were people everywhere and they were kicking and swimming side-ways. Attempting freestyle was futile. I got through it though in a pretty decent time. I was scared that the lake would be cold, but it actually felt really good. Like, perfect. However, the bottom of the lake was slimy and that freaked me out a little when I was coming out of the water.
2) The cycling was my best part.
3) I thought my run was sucky, but when I got my time back, it was about the same pace as my last run, so I guess it wasn't as bad as I thought. I need to practice getting off my bike and transitioning to running so I get used to that jell-o leg feeling. I also need to practice running without headphones; it's way different not having music in my ears. The song "Barracuda" kept going through my head because that was the last song I heard before the run began.
4) 4:00am is a ridiculous time to wake up.
5) I need to practice transitions. Especially from swimming to biking. I think I was kind-of slow at this.
6) I'm going to do this again
